President & Owner

I grew up on a working farm, and still live on one with my husband, Harold.  We are the proud parents of three wonderful children and seven delightful grandchildren and  recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary.  The most satisfying part of my life has been as a wife and mother, providing a welcoming home and good meals for my family.  I have also experienced various office jobs and continue to learn new and interesting things through adult education.  My interests include music, reading, playing bridge, and gardening.  We enjoy traveling with Harold and have visited many different parts of the world.  The most exciting part of my life has been to introduce Eucalan and to see the company grow over the past twenty years.

My favourite use of Eucalan is to wash my bras, panty hose, and other lingerie.  Before going to bed I fill the sink with lukewarm water and a couple of teaspoons of Lavender, immerse the items that require washing and let them soak.  In the morning I swish them around a bit and hang them to dry in the shower.  It is so easy and everything comes out smelling fresh and clean and look so good.  The best part is that my bras and lycra clothing keep their elasticity better.

It was 1989 when the Edgar family introduced the idea of a ‘no rinse’ delicate wash to the North American market.  It wasn’t long after that that I met Ken, Mary Ellen’s son.  I started working for Eucalan part-time in the office and then in 1991 I started working full-time when I moved to Paris and married Ken.  I’ve traveled to many trade shows and always find it exciting to meet our customers face-to-face!  It’s extremely satisfying to tell people that we sell Eucalan all over the globe.  I enjoy the perfect balance between work and family life.  While raising two young children with Ken I am able to work part-time from home as well going into the office on a schedule that I set and it seems to work well for all of us.

I love cashmere and wear it year round.  I use the sink and soak my garment in tepid water with a teaspoon of Eucalan for about half an hour.  I squeeze the water and Eucalan through and then lift the garment out and squeeze out as much water as possible by rolling in a towel then lay it flat to dry.  If necessary I’ll use the spin cycle on my machine to remove the excess water.  When the item is dry I give it a shake to fluff it up.  There’s nothing better than freshly washed cashmere!

Since joining Eucalan in the fall of 2005, I have learned the many benefits this product has to offer.  Being a mother of three I have come across many washing dilemmas and also know the importance of taking care of fine fabrics and delicates. My favorite thing to wash in Eucalan is my sweaters. Eucalan is so gentle to use and saves me time. I just fill up my washing machine with warm water and Eucalan and place my sweaters in to soak for a while. When they are done soaking I just turn the machine to the spin cycle and in a few minutes my sweaters come out clean and fresh.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and I am kept very busy with their activities and homework.  I also love spending time outdoors, going for walks with my children and our two dogs.

Having worked in customer service in the past I am excited to bring my experience to this team and customers. I look forward to hearing from you with your comments, tips and advice on Eucalan.
